Sorry it's been so long! It has been VERY BUSY here at Trinity. Finals begin Monday, but some of them were simply papers that were due on the last day of class, so it has been a book-filled, writing-intense, library-living past month that has kept us in the Dungeon (our name for our basement office).
We have had time for fun though. These are pics from April 25th and 26th.
On the 25th, Dr. Phil Harrold was a barista at the Silk House Cafe. He was serving up his special Chai Latte drink (Chai with 2 shots of espresso). Scott came to add some ambiance with his guitar, and tons of people from Trinity (faculty, staff and students) came to support Dr. Phil!
This is before the party when Callie came to help Scott and Michael grill the steaks, chicken and hotdogs.
Appetizer time!
The Grill Master Michael. He's our class president.
Scott led worship for the evening. In the background is Ferdinand taking pictures. He's from Kenya.
The Ladies getting the awards ready! They were fun clappy hands that light up when you clap them. We decorated them with a symbol and phrase for each person. For instance, one class member loves art so her award was the Sarah DaVinci award. Martha's award was all about her cave (her name for her study area). It was very funny and well recieved. The wives awards were Wilson Awards because on Home Improvement (TV show) Wilson is the neighbor that you can only see from the nose up. The joke is that since all the guys are studying, their wives only see them from the nose up now! The girls in the class are single, and I'm the only wife and student. The kids awards were PK awards. Stevie was so good too with how she explained it. PK is a term used for Priest's Kid or Pastors Kid, and sometimes it can be used derogotory (ie. the song Son of a Preacher Man). Stevie told the kids that it really means, Possesion of the King, so when their dads become priests, they can remember that if they ever hear PK it really means that they're God's Child-- a Possession of the King.
It was a very fun party!
